The following letter was written by my friend Dallas Branch. He submitted the letter to the editor of the Dominion Post to be included in the Opinion Section of the paper. It was rejected as mine was a few years ago which was the reason that I started Letters by John. After spending an afternoon on the shooting range Dallas told me about his letter and I replied that I would be willing to post it in my blog as a guest letter. Enjoy.
"I was one of those Trump supporters that did not care for him personally but loved his pro-growth, pro-jobs, pro-security, and pro-legal immigration policies. He was cast aside after one term by a relentless assault on his character by the media, the Democratic House of Representatives, 'intellectual' elites on many university campuses, Hollywood malcontents, and a fair dose of suburban women.
Uncle Joe (President Biden) was sworn in with a campaign promise to 'unite the country.' Barely 100 days later, we have far worse situations on our Southern border with illegal immigration. Our education system may indeed now be WOKE, but it is BROKE. Our system of elections is about to be nationalized, a la Cuba, Russia and China.
Don't hold your breath that most all the aforementioned persecutors of Trump will change their stripes-they will continue to condemn conservatives-What happened to 'love your neighbor as yourself?'
But what about suburban women? How are things working out for you and your families with educational system's refusal to go back to class, Critical Race Theory indoctrination and sex identity wokeness for kindergarten kids? Do you feel safer knowing that illegal immigrants are coming your way to your town? Are you ok with 90% of our drugs entering unrestricted now on the Southwest border, including fentanyl-enough to kill every American. Are you ok with the Mexican drug cartels controlling our Southern border-in many cases on OUR side of the border? Are you sure this is a safer place to live and raise a family than it was just 100 days ago?
I was shocked that this important group of Americans rejected Donald Trump so effortlessly. In my opinion, President Biden promised so much and has delivered so little. So who now has a problem leveling with the American people- and you suburban moms? Unfortunately, if you feel the same in 2024 as you did in 2020, this country as we have come to know it is a goner. I suggest you think long and hard before you reject America next time."
