#1 SERMONS YOU WON'T HEAR

I went to Church yesterday and Pastor Junius started with a Scripture reading from Isaiah. The passage announced the birth of Jesus 750 years before it happened. The Prophet was spot on but just a little early. The sermon continued about the birth of our Savior and one would expect that since it is the Advent season before Christmas. As usual the sermon delivered by Pastor Junius was stirring and moving but here is the sermon we did not hear.

Isaiah wrote the book from which the pastor read and it is divided into 2 parts. The first is his warnings to the Israelites that God would bring disaster to them if they did not give up their idols and return to worship God.  The second part is about the future and God's gift to man of a Savior. The idol worship that was rampant at that time had replaced the worship of God in his Temple and even the Temple Priests were bowing before idols. Isaiah was trying to get the people to give up their idols and return to God. One of the idols was Baal which was worshiped to give good harvests. God had told the Israelites through Isaiah that he would bring drought and pestilence to ruin their crops if they were to continue to worship Baal. The sermon you won't hear is about this.

We have just seen the fury of weather destroy complete towns and cities killing many with the tornadoes in the central states. Many including our President have said the weather was caused by Global Warming or Climate change which they believe is caused by man. So if I get this right the belief that man caused climate change is out of God's hands and humans have taken over. Mother nature is now a human function and we are supposed to make it rain when we need it and make the sun shine when we need it and have the power to stop all weather phenoniums that threaten us as tornadoes and hurricanes. We are in charge and if we deny enough people their comfort of energy to heat their homes and fuel their cars we can control the future weather conditions to our liking. It sounds as if Isaiah is about to speak to us again and tell us that we will keep experiencing problems with weather until we give up our idols and return to God and Jesus Christ. Does this sound like a sermon you might hear? We should but won't because many of our Church pastors and Priests have already joined the idol worshipers and believe that we have more power over the weather than God. What a shame that we have sunk so low and put our beautiful country at risk because of our greed and many idols such as sex and political power and many others that I will bring up in the next Sermon you won't Hear.
