KILLING IN AMERICA part 3

The killer burst through the door and shot everyone he saw. Old, young and even the unborn were gunned down and left as he proceeded to go to the next victim. He was chased away by a neighbor of the church and followed until he crashed his vehicle. Those left alive and the wounded were scarred for the rest of their lives. It was the same as Las Vegas and Florida, with a madman committing an atrocity beyond belief.

I went to a movie recently that I thought would be good because Susan Sarandon was listed as one of the cast. My wife and I watched as Ms. Sarandon entered the scene and immediately lit up a marijuana joint. It was not much longer that a little girl of 10 or 11 said the F word and then repeated it throughout the film. The movie that I thought would be a good family film was just another Hollywood amoral creation to reach beyond normalcy. Many of the movies today contain sex, drugs, alcohol and profanity. The child who was asked to repeat lines with the F word and being subjected to the drug use would be removed from a home in normal society and the parents charged with child abuse. Hollywood is not normal and lives in an amoral world that is satanic in nature. If a story is about police action, the hero kills and kills and demonstrates all of the newest firearms and how much and how rapid they can fire. Religion is demeaned or omitted completely.

In spite of the bad language, drug use and child abuse, the greatest problem for me was that the audience laughed and seemed to enjoy the amorality. This is a slice of our society today and expecting a good plot with a moral ending is not entertaining anymore. We seem to like gore, sex and language that we would not use at home. But there is a problem with the people in Hollywood and other media outlets that is more troubling. These same people tell us to get rid of our guns, agree with them politically or be an outcast in the business of entertainment and criticize and demean anyone who disagrees with them. Our entertainment venue is training those who watch and listen to it to throw all of their morals and ethics away. Anything goes, and if it feels good it is everyone’s right to pursue it.

We are teaching people how to use firearms in a horrible manner, that sex anywhere and anytime is OK and getting even for every assumed aggression against us is expected. This education is not very good for someone sitting on the edge of sanity waiting to be pushed into an insane act. To continue to condone this kind of entertainment and make it profitable is the same as being free to disobey traffic laws or turn the other way when the illegal drug problem happens around us. It is not much different than one state trying to solve a drug problem while a neighboring state tries to legalize it. Then after a horrible act, the 24-hour news media keeps the face of the killer and his deed on for hours. An insane killer gets a lot more than his 15 minutes of fame.
